Drink it now or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Considered one of the most important wineries in Slovenia, Marjan Simčič is located in the Brda wine region and also has vineyards in Italy. In this splendid hilly landscape, the vines enjoy pedoclimatic conditions particularly favorable to the production of excellent quality wines thanks to unique soils, excellent exposure, and a Mediterranean climate. The Ribolla Gialla grapes are carefully selected and harvested manually from selected vineyards located on marly soils at an altitude of approximately 200-250 meters, and with an age of approximately 50 years. After spontaneous fermentation with maceration on the skins for 6 days, the wine is matured in vats and oak barrels for a total period of approximately 2 years. Ribolla Gialla Cru Selection is a wine with a clear and brilliant color with straw yellow tones and golden reflections. Its aromatic profile is broad and complex with fresh notes of ripe citrus fruits, candied orange peel, dried fruit, oriental spices, and tea leaves. On the palate, the wine reveals itself to be soft and well-structured, with a pleasant mineral vein and a lingering sapidity. It is fresh and balanced and has a long and persistent finish. It is an excellent expression of Ribolla Gialla, which goes well with tuna and white meat.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
