The Mas de Mancuso Macabeo Bianco 2023 comes from an old vineyard situated at altitude, facing north on schist soils, acquired by the estate in 2018. It is a small plot with low yields. After various trials, notably regarding skin contact and the use of Flextank vats, the team found the right balance through a shorter maceration period. Harvested earlier, the wine displays controlled ripeness and a fresh, clean and precise nose. The nose evokes white flowers with a slight hint of honey, whilst a briny note makes the palate very flavourful. The texture is rich, offering lovely depth and great complexity. The overall impression is elegant, balanced, fresh, flavourful and of great finesse. The wine was aged for 14 months in two 500-litre Stockinger barrels dating from 2016. It possesses all the qualities and balance needed to age well in the bottle. A true success despite the year's difficult weather conditions, it displays great purity and lovely freshness.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
