An elegant, organically farmed white Burgundy from one of the most admired appellations in the Côte de Beaune. This Meursault showcases the finesse, precision, and restrained power that make the village so renowned, offering both immediate charm and fine ageing potential.
Meet the Producer
Founded in 2006 through the uniting of several mature vineyard holdings, Domaine Berthelemot has quickly earned a reputation for producing refined and terroir-driven Burgundian wines. Despite its youth, the domaine manages an impressive spread of vineyards across the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, working organically and with great respect for the land to create wines that balance modern precision with classic Burgundian elegance.
Production
The vineyards are cultivated with organic principles, with soil worked mechanically to encourage aeration, microbial life, and deep root growth—key to shaping characterful wines. Treatments are minimal and strictly regulated, respecting the natural balance of the vines. Grapes are carefully sorted, and the must is cooled before being transferred to casks for fermentation. Ageing on lees continues until July, with around 25% new oak used to add texture and depth without overpowering the purity of fruit and minerality.
Tasting Notes
Classic Meursault restraint and elegance: aromas of citronella, ripe lemon, and subtle white flowers. The palate is mineral-driven and precise, with fresh citrus fruit layered over a fine, persistent finish. Still youthful, it will gain complexity and richness with age, retaining poise and balance throughout. Food match A natural partner for fine seafood dishes such as poached halibut with lemon butter sauce, luxury fish pie, or scallops. Also excellent with roast chicken, pork fillet, or creamy mushroom-based dishes. Grape Chardonnay 100%
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
