Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in Ponferrada, El Bierzo, Michelini i Mufatto is a family-run winery founded in 2015 by Andrea and Gerardo, along with their son Manuel, following a trip to Spain where the two Argentine winemakers fell in love with the areas of San Lorenzo and Valdecañadas and discovered some old abandoned vineyards. Since then, the company has been producing typical wines of the region, often from a single vineyard and mainly based on Mencia, to express the territory's identity. The Mencia grapes come from a 65-year-old vineyard located about 610 meters above sea level in the San Lorenzo area. Here the vines benefit from a three-sides exposure and sink their roots into loam, slate, and quartz soils. After manual harvesting and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in terracotta amphorae, the finished wine rests for approximately 12 months in used oak barrels. Valdesacia is an elegant and balanced wine, fragrant and complex. The nose reveals delicate floral and fruity notes and some hints of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is smooth and finely fruity, with a medium body and velvety tannins. The finish is long and pleasantly refreshing. It is perfect with pork or lamb.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
