Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva Tor Del Colle is a medium-bodied, lightly oaked red wine from Abruzzo, Italy, made from 100% Montepulciano. The wine showcases a juicy, fruit-driven profile with subtle spice and herbal complexity.
Meet the Producer
Produced by Casa Vinicola Botter, a family-owned company founded in 1928 in Veneto, the estate now sources grapes from some of Italy’s top wine regions. Botter is certified sustainable and integrates environmentally responsible practices across viticulture and winemaking.
Production
Grapes are hand-selected from hillside vineyards in Abruzzo, benefiting from warm continental climates tempered by the Apennines. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 24 months, at least 9 of which are in wooden casks, to enhance complexity, add gentle spice, and integrate tannins, before bottling.
Tasting Notes
Intense purple in colour, the nose reveals aromas of blackberries, cherries, and subtle herbaceous notes. The palate is round and rich, with ripe berry fruit, black cherry, hints of liquorice, and a distinctive spicy character. Firm yet supple tannins support a long, juicy finish. Food match Pairs beautifully with pasta with tomato sauces, roasts, grilled meats, spicy salami, and mature hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C. Grape Montepulciano 100% Awards and Press Comments Wine Enthusiast: “Ripe, juicy, and aromatic with well-integrated spice and tannins, a great example of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva.” Decanter: “Complex and expressive, with layers of berry, liquorice, and subtle herbs; a standout from the region.”
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
