The Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Clos Sorbé 2023 from Domaine des Lambrays continues the tradition of excellence of an iconic estate in the Côte de Nuits, renowned for the precision and depth of its interpretations of the great terroirs. Clos Sorbé is a distinctive climat in Morey-Saint-Denis, characterised by clay-limestone soils rich in clay, which lend the wine a lovely fullness and an enveloping texture. These soils are complemented by limestone scree, which imparts tension and minerality, resulting in wines that are both full-bodied and elegant, often more approachable in their youth than other 1er crus of the appellation, whilst retaining genuine potential for ageing. In the glass, the wine displays an expressive nose of ripe red and black fruits, cherry and violet, complemented by spicy notes and a more earthy, mineral touch. On the palate, it captivates with its balance between richness and freshness, with a silky texture, fine tannins and a perfectly integrated structure. The long, harmonious finish perfectly reflects the estate’s style: a precise, elegant interpretation that respects the terroir, showcasing both the charm and depth of this Clos Sorbé. A distinguished Premier Cru, already appealing but with the promise of fine development in the cellar.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
