An organic and characterful expression of Monastrell from south-eastern Spain. This wine highlights the richness, freshness and vibrancy that high-altitude Alicante vineyards can deliver.
Meet the Producer
Founded in Valencia in 1927 as the Spanish subsidiary of the Swiss Schenk Group, Bodegas Murviedro has grown into one of the most important producers in the region. Their philosophy combines respect for indigenous varieties with modern winemaking practices, resulting in authentic wines that reflect the diverse terroirs of Valencia and Alicante.
Production
This certified organic Monastrell is sourced from carefully selected vineyards in Alicante. The region’s warm, dry climate and high-altitude sites allow the grapes to ripen fully while retaining freshness. After destemming, the grapes are gently pressed before undergoing fermentation with selected yeasts at a controlled 26°C. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel to preserve the grape’s pure fruit character and natural vibrancy.
Tasting Notes
Aromatic notes of ripe dark fruits layered with hints of spice and black pepper. The palate is mid-weight yet concentrated, showing blackcurrant, plum and savoury complexity. Supple tannins provide grip and balance, while the finish remains fresh and well-structured, showcasing the elegance of Alicante Monastrell. Food match Ideal with grilled red meats, game dishes, and strong mature cheeses. Grape Monastrell 100%
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
