Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located in the Douro Valley, the Portuguese Niepoort winery was founded in 1842 and today, now in its sixth family generation, is one of the most renowned in the country. Dirk is currently the leader of the winery, supported by his children, Daniel, Marco, and Ana, who continue the company's philosophy of producing excellent local wines from indigenous grape varieties, respecting tradition but with an innovative approach. The Tinto Charme is a red wine made from a blend of Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca grapes, hand-picked from the estate's vineyards. After gentle pressing in granite presses and vinification in barrels, the wine ages for 15 months in French oak. In the glass, the wine reveals a brilliant ruby-red color. Its aromatic profile is elegant and broad, with fragrant fruity notes interspersed with delicate oak notes. On the palate, it is distinctive and round, soft and fresh, with a powerful character and a layered, nuanced flavor. The tannins are smooth, and the finish is long and harmonious. It is a refined and expressive Portuguese wine that can age well in the cellar for several years, but can be enjoyed now with roast lamb or grilled chorizo.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
