Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant but best to open it half an hour before service. Niepoort is a Portuguese winery with nearly 200 years of history, currently led by Dirk Niepoort and his son Daniel (fifth and sixth generations of the family). Niepoort Redoma Branco is a blend of Rabigato, Códega do Larinho, Viosinho, and Larinho, with small additions of Donzelinho, Gouveio, and Arinto. The grapes come from the estate's parcels located between 400 and 600 meters above sea level on the right bank of the Douro River. Here, the old vines, grown organically and biodynamically, are rooted in micaceous schist soils and benefit from significant temperature variations between day and night. These conditions favor the production of wines with intense minerality and crisp acidity. After harvesting and gentle pressing, fermentation occurs spontaneously in French oak. The finished wine then ages on the lees for 9 months. The result is an elegant and distinctive wine that reveals a broad and delicate aromatic profile on the nose with notes of pear and citrus, herbaceous and hazelnut hints on a mineral undertone. On the palate, it is fresh, dry, taut, and lively, with a medium body and a supple texture. It has a pronounced acidity and a saline character that lingers on the finish. Its minerality makes it perfect with oysters, sushi, and seafood, but it also pairs well with fish soups and grilled poultry.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
