Located on the hillside above Nuits-Saint-Georges, Clos de Thorey is a Premier Cru Monopole belonging to Domaine de la Vougeraie, surrounded by walls and bathed in light. Here, the limestone soils mixed with red clay produce wines with a straightforward and elegant structure, marked by a beautiful mineral energy. Cultivated biodynamically, in 2023 the Clos delivers a wine of remarkable purity and harmony, reflecting the estate's delicate expertise. The 2023 vintage stands out for its precision: vibrant fruit, supple texture and perfectly integrated tension. The nose seduces with its finesse: black cherry, raspberry, violet and sweet pepper, enhanced by a touch of undergrowth and graphite. On the palate, the wine combines fullness and precision: the texture is silky, the tannins delicate, and the subtle freshness prolongs the wine in a straightforward, salty and persistent finish. This is a Clos de Thorey that is both sensual and ethereal, where the strength of the Nuits terroir is expressed in a nuanced and balanced interpretation. The perfectly balanced ageing refines the wine's contours without ever masking the fruit. Already seductive in its youth with its charm and vibrant fruitiness, it will reveal its full potential after 8 to 15 years of ageing, gaining depth and aromatic complexity. It will pair beautifully with pink pigeon, roast meat, mushroom risotto or delicate game.
