White Rioja may not be mainstream, but with wines like this it’s easy to see why its reputation is growing. A pure Viura with 4 months in American oak, balancing ripe tropical fruit with toasty brioche richness.
Meet the Producer
Bodegas Ontañón is a 5th generation family-owned winery in Rioja Oriental. Led by Raquel and Rubén Ontañón, the family is dedicated to producing elegant, characterful wines that celebrate their vineyards’ unique terroir.
Production
Viura grapes are sourced from the Siete Caminos vineyard on southeast-facing slopes. Following the classic white Rioja method, the wine is aged for 4 months in American oak and a further 6 months in bottle before release.
Tasting Notes

The palate is poised and fresh, combining ripe pineapple and crisp lemon with well-integrated oak for a long, textured finish. Food match Perfect with lobster or langoustines in cream-based pasta, or classic roast chicken. Grape Viura 100%
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
