The description below is the retailer’s own wording.
A dry, fruity white wine typical of the Rías Baixas, the Orballo Albariño from the Le Val estate stands out for its refined, mature palate, its mineral persistence and its iodine-tinged finish. A marked salinity and liveliness, which originate in the Vilachán vineyard. Planted in the schist soils of the O Rosal sub-region, on the Portuguese border (in south-western Galicia), the vines are influenced by their proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. This maritime climate is complemented by a flourishing vintage for the region's wines, with lower average temperatures and a harvest carried out at the precise moment of the grapes' ripeness. The DO Rías Baixas La Val Orballo is a fine example of this. Made from 100% Albariño, a native Galician grape variety, it offers a taste of the aromatic, lively and fresh style of one of Spain's finest white wines. On the palate, flavours of yellow fruit, green apple, grapefruit and lemon zest, with delicate floral and herbaceous notes create a lovely balance, with a hint of the sea to boot.
