Read the retailer’s description
The description below is the retailer’s own wording.
Enjoy it now, or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant before serving. The Swansong Riesling begins with a complex nose of mango, apricot, white peach, basil, and honeycomb. Its fruits were sourced from the Cape Winelands, where Orpheus and the Raven was founded in 2013. Slight aromas of kerosene can be detected, indicating a Riesling of the highest quality. It can be aged for some time, but above all else, the Swansong range encourages you to seize the day, and revel in the present moment. Besides the incredible flavour, one of the most striking aspects of this bottle is its label. Orpheus and the Raven is a joint project from wine-maker Etienne Louw and graphic designer Brenden Schwartz. In the years since the winery’s foundation, the pioneering duo have won multiple gold medals at the Winemag Wine Label Design Awards. The wine shows a beautiful golden colour in the glass. It is smooth and round on the palate, with good acidity and a dry, crackling finish. Look for notes of lime, orange skin and tropical fruit, with underlying hints of honey, flinty minerality, and dried herbs. It brings a special twist to the classic Riesling profile and will be excellent when paired with sushi, spiced curry, or pork.
