Pieropan Calvarino Soave Classico 2021 is a single-vineyard expression from the steep, basalt-soiled slopes of the north-west Soave Classico area. Crafted from Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave, it is a beautifully balanced, elegant white wine with lifted citrus and floral aromas and a long, persistent finish.
Meet the Producer
The Pieropan family has been producing wines in Soave since the 1890s. In 1971, Nino Pieropan created the first single-vineyard Soave, Calvarino , pioneering a modern approach to quality-focused winemaking in the region. Today, Andrea and Dario Pieropan continue the family tradition, producing wines that combine the heritage of Soave with meticulous vineyard management and organic farming practices.
Production
The Calvarino vineyard, owned by the Pieropan family since 1901, is planted on basalt soils at 200–300 metres above sea level. Vines range from 30 to 60 years old and are farmed organically. Grapes were hand-harvested in September, gently destemmed and crushed, and the free-run juice was fermented in glass-lined cement tanks at 14–18°C. The wine was aged on fine lees for 12–15 months before bottling, with further maturation in bottle until release.
Tasting Notes
Pale straw yellow with youthful hues, the nose shows lifted aromas of lemon, cherry, and elderflower. The palate is dry, precise, and elegant, with a harmonious balance and a long, persistent finish. Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
