From two historic plots at La Noblaie, one on flinty clay known as "Cornuelles" from the Senonian period, the other on clay-limestone, Pierre de Tuf is La Noblaie's flagship cuvée. Vinified since 2003 in a centuries-old vat carved out of tuffeau rock in the 15th century, the energy and aromatic power stored during maceration are slowly released during a very long ageing process, 80% in barrels and 20% in amphorae. After 20 months of ageing in 500-litre barrels and amphorae on lees, this Chinon reveals a complex and deep bouquet of blackcurrant, cherry, blackberry, flowers, spices and pencil lead. Medium-bodied, supple and complex, it offers a velvety attack that lingers with a consistent, lively and vibrant bouquet.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
