A restrained and distinctively dry Amarone, Prà Morandina 2017 showcases remarkable purity and finesse, capturing the elegance of eastern Valpolicella. Sourced from a 13-hectare vineyard near Mezzane at 450m altitude, the grapes benefit from steep glacial slopes of rocky yellow marl, cool nights, and meticulous vineyard care with no chemical treatments. Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Oseletta grapes are dried for two months before fermentation, producing a powerful yet refined wine with sublime aromas and a complex, structured palate.

Meet the Producer

Graziano Prà followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, studying oenology and taking over the family winery, realizing his long-held ambition to create wines of elegance, balance, and character.

Production

Grapes are dried in a fruttaio (drying room) for 2 months. Fermentation lasts 15 days in stainless steel vats with delestage, followed by malolactic fermentation—1/3 in Allier barriques and the remainder in 5hl tonneaux for 2 years.

Tasting Notes

The nose is ripe, open, and spicy, with aromas of wild cherry, plum, and dried herbs. The palate shows firm, ripe tannins with flavours of bitter cherry, spice, and tarry liquorice, evolving into dried orange peel, ripe red fruits, and a hint of mocha on a long, complex finish. Food match Pairs beautifully with mature, strong cheeses, roast beef, or game. Grape Corvina 30%, Corvinone 30%, Rondinella 30%, Oseletta 10%

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
