Produced from the Norte' vineyard, one of the highest in the DOCa Rioja, Pujanza Norte is among the appellation's finest wines. Situated at 720 metres in the foothills of the Basque mountains, overlooking Laguardia, the capital of Rioja Alavesa, it combines perfect exposure to northerly winds with clay soils and a limestone subsoil. These characteristics, combined with Carlos San Pedro's winemaking method (separate fermentation according to soil type, ageing in concrete vats and French oak barrels for 16 months), give Pujanza Norte remarkable freshness and acidity, which remain consistent vintage after vintage. Thus, the Pujanza Norte 2022 is a powerful and mature wine, yet elegant and harmonious, with a controlled alcohol content (13.5%, even lower than in 2021) and a distinct personality. Its cherry-red colour highlights subtle fruity aromas, spicy notes and a well-integrated touch of oak. On the palate, it offers a fine balance between body, acidity and alcohol, with a mineral backbone and a particularly long, expressive finish.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
