Read the retailer’s description
The description below is the retailer’s own wording.
This wine is mostly the result of a blend of different small vineyards around the village of Gueberschwihr, with the addition of the very small product of two young vines from the estate, located on Grand Cru Hengst. The nose is tight at the first approach and requires a little venting. This is because of a typical phenomenon that comes from the limestone influence on the vines, but is also increased by maturation on the lees for 18 months. Ventilation allows the wine to express all of its beautiful citrus aromas to the full. With age, the mineral, stony tastes will become gradually stronger. On its part, the structure in the mouth is impeccable, with a very dry feel and salty texture that envelops the palate and all with a bold, persistent intensity. A finish with a fine-grained touch that makes this a velvety, light and quaffable wine. A wine best drunk young or for laying down for a few years, since it will evolve into a lovely distinguished Riesling.
