San Polo's Rosso di Montalcino DOC is a 100% Sangiovese organic wine, sourced from the high-altitude vineyards of Vigna Rossa and Vigna d'Oriente. Situated on the cool slopes of Montalcino, the grapes, planted in soil rich in calcium and clay, are vinified separately in cement vats, followed by a year's ageing in large, lightly toasted barrels (80%) and amphorae, to preserve the varietal characteristics and freshness of the Sangiovese. Marked by significant climatic challenges, the 2023 vintage concluded with a fine balance between freshness and expressiveness. On the nose, it offers aromas of bright red berries such as morello cherry and raspberry, with subtle spicy and vanilla notes. On the palate, it is balanced and juicy, supported by firm tannins right through to the deep, aromatic finish. A fine example of the appellation, perfect for pairing with simple, flavourful dishes.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
