Source-supplied bottle description
Retained as supporting identification copy; the structured facts and evidence links above are kept separate.
For this highly expressive Coteaux du Layon, the vines are grown on clay-schist soils on the right bank of the Layon, where the river creates a microclimate favourable to botrytis. The grapes are harvested by hand in successive passes, selecting only those affected by botrytis. The wine is fermented and aged in vats for seven months. On the nose, it reveals notes of candied apricot, pineapple and honey. The palate, smooth and complex, offers a tangy finish. Fruit-driven in its youth, it can be enjoyed now. It will age just as well for 15 years, or even several decades, with the aromas evolving towards honey and spices with age.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
