An elegant and expressive white from southern Italy, Edda Lei Bianco offers an alluring bouquet of orange blossom, rosemary, guava, and ripe peach, lifted by a bright, refreshing acidity. Rich yet beautifully balanced, it’s a distinctive wine that combines Mediterranean warmth with a refined, mineral finish. About the Producer Founded in 1962 by 19 dedicated vine growers, Cantine San Marzano has become one of Italy’s most respected cooperatives, uniting more than 1,200 growers across Puglia. The winery blends centuries of Apulian winemaking heritage with cutting-edge techniques, crafting wines that express both the region’s authenticity and modern precision. In 2022, San Marzano was named Cooperative Winery of the Year by Gambero Rosso. Vineyard The vineyards sit around 100 metres above sea level, where warm daytime temperatures and cooler nights encourage slow, even ripening. This diurnal range allows for excellent flavour concentration while preserving freshness. The Guyot-trained vines are planted at a density of 4,500 per hectare in soft, shallow soils of good texture — ideal conditions for producing expressive, aromatic white wines.

Winemaking

Grapes were carefully destemmed and cold-macerated to extract aromatic complexity before gentle pressing and natural cold settling. Fermentation took place in French oak barrels, followed by four months of maturation on fine lees with weekly bâtonnage. This lees contact adds depth, texture, and a subtle creamy richness to the wine.

Tasting Notes

Intensely aromatic, with notes of peach, orange blossom, and delicate vanilla. The palate is full and rounded, balancing ripe tropical fruit with freshness and a hint of minerality on the finish. A beautifully poised and memorable southern Italian white.

Food Pairing

Excellent with seafood risotto, grilled prawns, or creamy pasta dishes — equally impressive served on its own. Grape Chardonnay 60%, Fiano 20%, Moscatello Selvatico 20%

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
