Séméli Moschofilero is an excellent example of the indigenous Greek grape variety Moschofilero from the prestigious Mantinia PDO appellation. Produced by Boutari Wines, one of Greece's most respected producers founded in 1879, this wine showcases the aromatic intensity and elegant character that makes Moschofilero one of Greece's most distinctive white varieties. Beautifully dry, rounded and balanced with exceptional quality.

Why You'll Love It

This is authentic Greek white wine from the Mantinia appellation in the Peloponnese, renowned for producing Greece's finest Moschofilero. Sourced from low-yielding vineyards on the slopes of Zevgolatio, the grapes are hand-picked, chilled overnight, and handled with gravity-flow techniques to preserve purity. With 4 months on fine lees and meticulous winemaking by Vassilis Georgiou, this wine offers remarkable aromatic complexity and texture at outstanding value. Vegan and vegetarian friendly.

Meet the Producer

Boutari is one of the largest and most respected producers in Greece. Founded in 1879 in Naoussa by Ioannis Boutaris, the company has been a pioneer in Greek winemaking for over 140 years, championing indigenous varieties and producing wines of exceptional quality across Greece's key regions.

Production

Sourced from low-yielding vineyards on the slopes of Zevgolatio within the Mantinia appellation. Grapes are hand-picked, chilled overnight to 7-8°C and gently pressed by pneumatic press. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures followed by maturation on the fine lees for 4 months. An important factor for Séméli Estate is the gentle handling of the grapes, which is achieved by using gravity in many stages of the production process.

Tasting Notes

Sweetly peach perfumed and floral on the nose, this wine shows real interest on the palate with lovely skin texture to complement the ripe peach flavours. Beautifully dry, rounded and balanced with aromatic intensity.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
