The 2020 Vigna del Lago shows an intense ruby-red color with bright reflections. It offers delicate aromas of licorice, mint, violet, and pomegranate. The wine combines velvety tannins with lively acidity, creating an elegant balance that carries through to its refined, smooth finish. Bright ruby-colored, the 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino Vigna Del Lago lifts to a fantastic mineral-noted nose with notes of graphite, red raspberries, red berries, roses, and fresh herbs. Medium-bodied, it's very elegant and graceful, with ultra-fine tannins, even acidity, and a clean, silky finish. It retains lovely ripe, pure fruit throughout and has a relatively linear feel without ever lacking ripeness. This is a gorgeous wine to enjoy over the coming 15 or more years. Full of licorice root, with notes of helichrysum, mint, sweet violets, redcurrants and pomegranates. Juicy palate with velvety, ripe tannins, lifted acidity and full body. Elegance and vibrancy here. Drinkable now, but best after 2025. The Val di Suga 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Lago is born in a vineyard with clay soil, and it offers extra textural heft and dark fruit concentration as a result. The bouquet opens to pressed blackberry aromas, and it also shows dried spice, tobacco and something that reminds me of granola or toasted multigrain bread. The wine's profile is wide and broad in approach, unlike the Poggio al Granchio that is more vertical in personality. 8,000 bottles were created.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
