Source-supplied bottle description

A classic expression of Tempranillo, Valenciso Cemento is a complex, finely structured Rioja crafted entirely in concrete tanks. Rich, layered, and elegant, it showcases the purity of old-vine fruit combined with the textural finesse that concrete ageing provides.

Meet the Producer

Founded in 1998 by Luis Valentin (formerly of Bodegas Palacios) and Carmen Enciso, Valenciso has earned a reputation for producing top-quality, terroir-driven Riojas. The winery emphasises sustainable viticulture, traditional techniques, and minimal intervention to reveal the essence of its vineyards.

Production

Grapes from 45–55-year-old Tempranillo vines are hand-harvested from organically managed vineyards in October. Fermentation occurs with wild yeasts in temperature-controlled concrete tanks, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Unfiltered and naturally sedimenting, the wine is then aged in concrete for 2½ years, preserving freshness while adding remarkable texture and depth.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of dark bramble fruits lead to a complex palate of wild blackberry and plum, with hints of black pepper. Elegant and rounded, supported by fine tannins and vibrant acidity, the wine finishes long and persistent. Food match Pairs beautifully with roast pork, lamb cutlets, or a vegetable tagine. Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
