A classic Rioja Reserva, Vega del Rayo showcases the elegance and complexity of Tempranillo and Graciano from Rioja Alta. With layered black fruit, warm spice, and well-integrated oak, it is a traditional, refined red that embodies the region’s signature style.
Meet the Producer
Boutinot works with over 50 Spanish wineries, carefully selecting estates that produce wines of quality and authenticity. Vega del Rayo is sourced from Rioja Alta vineyards where stony soils and cooler elevations ensure balanced ripening and expressive fruit.
Production
Tempranillo (90%) and Graciano (10%) grapes are hand-harvested in mid-October from 30–40-year-old vines. Each variety is fermented separately in small tanks with natural yeasts at 28–30°C. After 20 days on skins, the wine is gently pressed and transferred to stainless steel tanks for malolactic fermentation. The wine then matures for 24 months in 2nd and 3rd year American and Russian oak barrels before blending and bottling.

Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
