The 2018 Venus cuvée from Caveau de Bacchus is a truly exceptional expression of the Jura. Atypical and classified as a Vin de France, it was harvested late and remained in alcoholic fermentation for six years without topping up, the yeasts exhausting themselves before the wine was completely dry, leaving 5 grams of residual sugar. Produced from grey marl terroir, this cuvée seduces with its complex nose of exotic fruits, tart apple, nuts and menthol notes, while the palate, full-bodied and structured, displays balance, freshness and remarkable length. Perfect with honey-glazed lamb, chicken tagine with dried fruit or any bold gourmet dish, this unusual cuvée embodies Bacchus' unique expertise and will delight lovers of surprising and memorable great whites.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
