The wine

Vergelegen Florence Rosé 2024 Wine (75cl) is recorded as a 2024 rose wine made from Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Shiraz.

Typical grape profile: Mourvèdre — Dark fruit, game and a herbal, gamey edge; a key blending grape in southern Rhône and Spain; Grenache — Ripe red berry fruit and warm spice; often blended in Rhône and Spanish reds. The finished bottle can differ with vintage and winemaking.

Source-supplied bottle description

Part of Vergelegen’s Heritage Range, Florence Rosé pays tribute to Florence, Lady Phillips, whose influence shaped the estate during the early 20th century. The label features a camellia, adapted from one of her original botanical drawings.

Winemaking

Crafted from Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre, the grapes were partially whole-bunch pressed and destemmed to achieve a delicate blush hue, with only the finest free-run juice selected. Each variety was fermented separately in stainless steel with different yeasts to bring complexity, before six months of lees contact with regular stirring to add texture and depth.

Tasting Notes

A rose-gold rosé with vibrant strawberry and raspberry notes, lifted by fresh acidity. Elegant, dry and refreshing – the perfect wine for summer picnics, braais and long al fresco lunches. Blend 65% Shiraz, 25% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre Food Pairing Ideal with grilled prawns, summer salads or charcuterie.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
