A bright and approachable Alvarinho, Vila Nova offers vibrant citrus aromas, limey fruit, and textural stone fruit, all balanced by the minerality typical of Vinho Verde. Fresh, lively, and fruit-driven, it provides excellent value compared to its Spanish Albariño counterparts.
Meet the Producer
Casa de Vila Nova, owned by the Lencastre family of aristocratic Portuguese lineage, crafts wines that reflect the unique terroir and traditions of the Sousa sub-region in northern Portugal.
Production
Grapes are hand-harvested in 20 kg boxes and quickly transported to the winery, where they are destemmed, softly pressed, and fermented in temperature-controlled vats. The Atlantic-influenced soils and microclimate of Vinho Verde give the wine its distinctive freshness and character.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of bright citrus and lime, with a fresh, lively palate showing ripe stone fruit and a soft, textural mouthfeel. Balanced by characteristic minerality, this Alvarinho is both elegant and approachable. Food match Pairs beautifully with chicken salads, seafood, sushi, or Vietnamese-style meatballs. Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
