Grown on the slopes of the Mâconnais, in the heart of the former Châtellenie de Vérizet, this Viré-Clessé fully reflects the appellation's identity. The Chardonnay expresses itself here on clay-limestone soils, offering a balance between richness and freshness. The Vieilles Vignes cuvée comes from plots aged between 40 and 60 years, located in the communes of Viré and Clessé. Their deep root systems and low vigour yield concentrated grapes, whilst maintaining a lovely tension thanks to an early harvest that prevents any overripeness. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats, with fermentation at low temperatures to preserve the aromatic precision. Ageing on fine lees for several months adds roundness and structure to the wine without weighing it down. The result is a wine that combines fullness and freshness: a clear expression of Chardonnay, marked by floral notes, citrus and a lingering minerality, with a palate balanced between creaminess and tension.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
