Wildeberg Terroirs Chenin Blanc is a premium South African white wine crafted from 45+ year-old bush vines grown on Table Mountain granite outcrops in Paarl. This wine is an expression of the most exciting vineyard blocks across the Coastal Region, capturing the unique character and terroir of these historic vines. Hand-harvested and naturally fermented at the Wildeberg estate, it is aged for 12 months in a combination of new and older French oak barrels to create a textural, site-driven wine.
Tasting Notes
On the nose, this Chenin Blanc is broad, savoury, and complex, with aromas of ripe stonefruit, citrus, straw, saffron, and baked earth. The palate is generous and textured, revealing flavours of apricot, green plum, and grapefruit. The richness of fruit is balanced by tangy freshness and a taut mineral seam, leading to a long, focused finish.
Food Pairing
This versatile white wine pairs beautifully with grilled fish and white meats, and is particularly well-suited to asparagus or vegetable-based dishes.
Winemaking
The 2022 vintage comes entirely from Eenzaamheid, a vineyard planted in 1977. The old, dry-farmed bush vines are hand-harvested and fermented naturally at the Wildeberg estate. Minimal intervention is employed to preserve the site-specific character, and the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels to add subtle complexity while maintaining freshness and structure.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
