The Genetie ‘Illuminé’ Chardonnay is a classic Southern Burgundy white, showcasing elegance, finesse, and the typicity of the Bourgogne AOP. With fine buttery and floral aromas, subtle oak influence, and a long, citrus-tinged mineral finish, this Chardonnay is a testament to Boutinot France’s 30+ years of winemaking heritage in Burgundy. Meet the Producer Boutinot France has its heart in Burgundy, the foundation of its French winemaking since its founding over 30 years ago. Winemaker and Master Blender Samantha Bailey oversees production, ensuring that each wine expresses its terroir, grape variety, and time-honoured craftsmanship. Production The Chardonnay comes from a 12-hectare plot in Bussières, south of the Mâconnais, with an average vine age of 40 years. The vineyard sits on classic argilo-calcaire soils, ideal for Chardonnay, lending elegance and subtle minerality. Around 10% of the wine is barrel-aged, adding a textural, slightly creamy dimension while preserving the bright, fresh character of the grapes. Tasting Notes Elegant and refined, with floral and buttery aromas, delicate creaminess from barrel ageing, and a citrus-tinged mineral finish. The wine is medium-bodied with finesse and a long, lingering palate.
