Redbreast 12 Year Old is the definitive expression of single pot still Irish whiskey and the world's most-awarded whiskey of its kind. First launched in 1939 as the brand name given to the pot still whiskey supplied by Jameson to whiskey bonders, it all but disappeared when distillery bottling became the norm in 1968, before being relaunched in the 1990s to widespread critical acclaim. Made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills at Midleton Distillery, and matured for a minimum of 12 years in a combination of Oloroso sherry casks and bourbon barrels, it is a rare treat for the connoisseur of fine Irish whiskey.

Whiskey critic Peter Mulryan called it "a magnificent performance" and asked "Is this the best whiskey in the world?" It has won the trophy at the International Wine and Spirits Competition for two consecutive years, as well as Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Strongly flavoured and assertive, it is the benchmark by which all single pot still Irish whiskeys are measured. Distillery and Production Midleton Distillery, County Cork, Ireland. Single pot still Irish whiskey made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills. Matured for a minimum of 12 years in a combination of Oloroso sherry-seasoned Spanish oak butts and ex-bourbon American oak barrels. Bottled at 40% ABV.
