The 2013 Terre di Vico is rich and layered, with concentrated fruit meeting smooth tannins and a mineral edge that gives it structure and freshness. Although there’s boldness here, it’s well balanced, showing elegance alongside power. The wine is grown on high-density, organically-farmed vines in the Alta Maremma of Tuscany, blending Sangiovese with Merlot and a dash of Cabernet Franc, on soils rich in clay and marine deposits. The maturation is carefully managed to lend depth without overwhelming the terroir’s character. Castello di Vicarello, a family-run estate in Poggi del Sasso in Tuscany’s Maremma region, was founded by Carlo and Aurora Baccheschi Berti, with their son Brando now playing a leading role. The estate cultivates its vineyards organically and focuses on high-density planting, low yields and meticulous oak ageing to craft expressive, elegant wines rooted in a distinctive sense of place.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
