Named after a rugged inlet on Islay’s Atlantic coast, Sanaig reflects Kilchoman’s commitment to traditional whisky-making and local provenance. It is crafted from a vatting of approximately 70% Oloroso sherry casks and 30% bourbon barrels, resulting in a profile that is distinctly richer and more decadent than its sibling expression, Machir Bay. On the nose, Sanaig opens with fragrant heather, raisins, pear and orange peel, followed by waves of stone fruits, mixed spices and rich peat smoke. The palate reveals overripe plums, red cherries and hints of citrus, which give way to barbecue peat smoke, toffee, oak and dark chocolate.
